Sloan Named Division III Middle Atlantic
Coach of the Year

  Kevin Sloan

Neumann University’s head men’s soccer coach Kevin Sloan was named the 2011 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III Middle Atlantic Coach of the Year. Sloan was one of eight coaches in Division III to receive this honor.

Coach Sloan and the Knights played in the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament in 2011, the furthest the program has ever advanced.

“It is a tremendous honor and one that is certainly reflective of our team’s achievements. It is a great feeling to see the players achieve some of the goals that they set out early in the season”, said Coach Sloan. “Given that there are so many great coaches in our region alone, it’s nice to be lumped in with some of the more prestigious coaches and schools in the country.  I hold this award in high regard and the Neumann players have created this platform.”

Neumann won its second straight Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Title and compete it the NCAA Tournament. In the first round, the Knights advanced 5-4 on penalty kicks after playing to a 0-0 tie with Salisbury.

In round two, Neumann traveled to No. 1 Messiah. The Knights came away with a 1-0 overtime win, one of the biggest upsets in the tournament.

Neumann was paired with Montclair State for the Sweet 16 round. After a tough battle, the Knights fell 2-1. Neumann finished the season 14-5-1.

Twenty-four men's soccer coaches at NCAA institutions have been recognized by their peers with the announcement of the 2011 NSCAA/Mondo Regional Coaches of the Year. These coaches will be joined by those coaches whose teams advanced to the NCAA semifinals on the ballot for NSCAA/Mondo National Coach of the Year in their respective divisions.

Recipients of the national award will be announced at the annual Awards Banquet, to be held on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at the Kansas City Convention Center in conjunction with the 2012 NSCAA Convention.

 U15M Nike Boys

The PA Rush U14 Nike Boys team has solidified around the theme:

"Winning Attitude, Winning Effort and Winning Results".We believe that soccer is a great training ground for life. So we work hard at soccer to be the best teammates, players, coaches and parents we can be, creating a pattern for how our players will approach other categories of life such as school, family and eventually work and marriage.

Winning Attitude, Winning Effort, Winning Results

: We find that winning results are a natural outcome when we bring the right attitude and effort to the team. While we have enjoyed great success with regard to game results, we find more important results in the personal growth and development of each of our players individually and together as a team. We look forward to seeing the continued growth of these boys into men who are responsible, skilled, hard-working, caring, leaders in whatever their future holds, including, but much beyond, the awesome experiences of playing the great game of soccer with guys who become some of your closest friends.: We focus on teaching the discipline and critical importance of always putting out our best effort, especially during our training sessions. We believe you must practice your best every time if you ever want to play your best and if your best is to keep getting better. The boys enjoy the team more when we all bring a winning effort.: We challenge our team to build and maintain attitudes that are positive, committed, hard working, team/other-focused and encouraging amongst the players, coaches and parents.
